Get Familiar: Boy & Bear

17 Oct

This Australian folk-rock group released their first full-length album, Moonfire, in August and it is one of the best folk records of 2011. Though they are still relatively small, with a sound that is reminiscent of Fanfarlo and Fleet Foxes, Boy & Bear’s potential for success is extremely high. Their debut is a great mix of upbeat folk-rock jams, strong lyricism, and powerful vocals, starting their career off on the right foot. With such a strong start I expect much more to come from this down under quintet.

Recommended Songs: “Feeding Line,” “Golden Jubilee,” “Lordy May”
